I think the area when you get off the boat that has all the server rules could easily be modified to have quick access portals there.

I think we need an adjustment for the SMP spawn. While the spawn looks really good the layout and location of the portals is a huge hassle for newcomers and I think we may be losing a lot of people because of it. My suggestion for the portals would be a layout similar to the earlier floating island spawn: all the portals in a small general area, all of them easily viewable and found from the spawn point. Minecraft is a lot more fun to play with the sense of a community and a small condensed area like this enables people to see where others are going, what's most popular, and what all we have without running all around the map every time they want to go somewhere new. I also don't think that we would have to give up the type of spawn we have now in order to have this portal layout. We could have the portal hub at the center of town, and if people wanted to they could leave the portal area to go explore the town instead of having to explore the town to find portals. |
