Seconded. Normally I think some of your opinions are a tad extreme, but this is spot on. He has enough money to get better servers.

Re: How the fuck
He has Amazon S3 servers they scale the cost increases as they are used more..... They dont go down.
Unless its a technical issue... "IE Database restrictions" you can not just throw more power at an overloaded Database that cant handle the request calls. Im sorry but this is not a issue where MONEY just randomly thrown at it will solve the issue.
This will be solved by software engineers who need time to figure out how to deal with the information.
Believe me Amazon S3 has more than enough power to handle anything. so the failure is not the "SERVER" it is the software running on the server. Stop being so blind and think about the actual problem. Every web service that scales as fast as Minecraft has will have this issue. Try running a Database with millions of people in it and you might understand this issue.

Yes, and from what I see the best solution tends to be buying multiple login servers. I know of one game that let a few thousand people play on a server, then bought a new one. Guess how often their login messed up? NEVER.

Re: How the fuck
By telling you they have S3 I should explain Amazon S3 is UNLIMITED Servers. You pay based on load... so If your traffic spikes the servers Propagate across more servers to handle the load. In no way would him "Buying a Server" be a solution in this case... I wish you guys would have legitimate arguments other than "BUY MORE SERVERS" Because this in a very technical sense does not have anything to do with his issues. I hope this helps you understand. If you would like more information on Amazon S3 you can read such at http://aws.amazon.com/s3/ Enjoy!

Re: How the fuck
You dont buy this type of software. You make it. And I dont know if you know much about software engineering, but it requires quite a bit of time to make these sorts of things work properly. Until you can show me that you have written enterprise quality database software to link game login / download systems together I would suggest you not dismiss it as being oh just "buy better software" and if you did hire a company or some group of engineers to make it. It would also take conciderable time to write and implement good stable versions of it.
You guys are just being impatient the game is marked "BETA" Meaning it is still in Development. Why don't you calm down and let the guy Develop the damn game. This is why most big company's don't release games until they are finished.... but those company's have money to support long development times.
What notch did was sell a preview of his game at a discounted price so that he could fund this Development.
How is this so hard to understand?

Re: How the fuck
It can but all Im saying that even with money the issue here is time. It takes time to Code the software. You cant hire 400 people to get it done in 10 mins and then fire them all. He has hired a staff of people who he can use to further develop and sustain the game. And he has also purchased the S3 servers required.
All you need to do is wait and let them actually work on the game.
