Idioms
Discussing these with xert gave me an idea, we all use expressions we know and love on a daily basis, so tell us what idioms you guys got in your languages.
Idioms are expressions or sayings that only make sense in your own language, like, "more than you can shake a stick at" yeah, good luck translating that to anything else and still have it make sense.
Ill start off.
Some Portuguese ones,
cabeca de alho chocho - hollow garlic head, as in, saying someone's stupid.
Dar a volta ao bilhar grande - to do a lap around the big pool table, as in, "go away"
estar feito ao bife - Done to the beef "Im screwed."

Re: Idioms
chat-a-chat _ Means "To call a spade a spade", however directly translates to "cat to cat". Avoir le melon _ Means to be sure of oneself, but literally translates to "has the melon". Jeter l'eponge _ Means to concede, translates to "Throw the sponge".
Ye. Some french ones. Oh Canada and such.

Re: Idioms
Вешать лапшу на уши (Veshat' lapshu na ushiy) - "Hang noodles over the ears"
It means you're talking bullshit/nonsense. It's the most popular one in Russian that I know of, since I only know of that one...

Re: Idioms
"Living the dream" means being really happy, but in reality, most dreams are scary.
